5 Easy Shlokas For Kids In 5 Minutes

If I got your attention, then yay! That’s good. I am not going to waste it. There is no 5-minute shloka trick. I would be a liar if I said otherwise.

What I CAN give you are a few tips – hoping and praying with folded hands that they work for you the way they worked for me.  If you want a detailed post on the list of 15 easy shlokas, click here.

1. Repeat the Shloka routine, no matter how hard or tiring the day has been.

If the full routine feels like too much, do just one shloka with your kid. Do it! Every day. That’s it. That’s the best trick. Repetition may seem mundane at first, but learning gets easier with small daily steps and the compounded benefits. Totally worth it.

2. Kids follow what you do. You lead them.

In front of them. With them. Because of them. Recite the shlokas during special occasions and poojas. And give your kids the opportunity to recite with you as a true leader. You might be surprised how kids can outshine you at a pooja ritual. Giving them reasons beyond just recitation makes it an interesting task. Now they are actively using what they learn once. Give them the much-needed confidence boost and motivation. They feel less shy, and you will find them doing it more often naturally without having to push or nudge.

3. Shloka Revision is your kid’s best tool.

Finding the right revision resource matters more than you think. This is why I created the Mega Shloka Book for my son. Click here to read.

With big fonts and all shlokas in one place. Your child can revise everything in under 5 minutes. It reinforces the daily shloka habit for kids without feeling like boring homework. There is

(Fair warning: if your kid is anything like mine, she/he will speed-read the whole thing in 2 minutes flat and be thoroughly bored for the remaining 3. And that’s okay.)

Keep guiding them – with the right words, the right tone, and a whole lot of patience.

And remember through all of this – an honest conversation goes a long way. Sometimes you’ll discover your child doesn’t mind the shlokas being complex at all. They want you to be there. Present. Involved.

So watch the cues. They’re always telling you something.
